What We Do

When the part you need doesn't exist, we build it.

Heavy-duty vehicles get modified. Discontinued parts need replacements. Damaged panels need patches that nobody sells. Brackets fail. Bumpers bend. A fleet wants the same equipment mount on twenty trucks. Custom fabrication is the answer to every problem that doesn't have a part number — and ATEL's fab shop sits inside the same building as collision, mechanical, paint and frame.

We work steel, aluminum and stainless. We MIG, TIG and stick weld to spec. We cut, form, fit and finish — and we paint the result in our booths so it leaves the building ready to install. From a one-off custom bumper to a 40-unit fleet bracket run, the work happens in-house.

Insurance estimators, fleet maintenance managers and owner-operators get a single point of contact for fab work. Drawings or photos on intake, written scope before fabrication starts, shop documentation on every weld.

Frequently Asked Questions

Questions we hear from customers

A few quick answers. If yours isn't here, call us or use our contact form.

Can you fabricate a part from a drawing or a photo?

Yes. Drawings, photos, hand sketches or the broken original — any of those starts a fab job. We scope, write a quote and confirm spec before any material is cut.

What materials do you weld?

Steel (mild and structural, including heat-treated), aluminum (cab structures, panels, trailer bodies), and stainless (304 and 316). MIG, TIG and stick capable.

Do you weld aluminum?

Yes. Aluminum is daily work for us — cab structures, bus panels, motor coach skins and trailer bodies. Certified TIG welders on every job.

Can you fabricate replacements for discontinued OEM parts?

Yes. When a body panel, bracket or trim piece is no longer available from the manufacturer, we can fabricate a replacement to fit. Refinished in our booths before reinstall.

Do you do multi-unit fleet fabrication runs?

Yes. When a fleet needs the same custom part across 10, 20 or 40 units, we jig and produce to one spec. Consistency from first unit to last.

Are your welds code-compliant for structural repair?

Yes. Certified welders on every structural joint. We document weld procedures for insurance and DOT-relevant work.

Where are you located and what areas do you serve?

The shop is at 12120 Conway Rd, Beltsville, MD 20705 — minutes from I-95 and the Baltimore-Washington Parkway. Our primary service area is the DMV: Washington DC, Maryland and Virginia. Fleet pickup and delivery arrangements are negotiable on contract.
